Today we bid farewell to the much ballyhooed relationship and wedding of golfer Rory McIlroy and female tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
The wedding is off.
“The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails.” said McIlroy in a released statement.
“There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people.
“I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we have had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting.”
McIlroy, 25 and Wozniacki, 23, who had been seeing each other since 2011. They announced their engagement on New Year’s Day.
