Former boxer Tommy Morrison has passed away. Morrison, 44, was 48-3-1 during his career which was highlighted by a win over George Foreman in 1993 for the WBO championship.
The news of Morrison’s death was confirmed by his former promoter.
“It’s true,” said Tony Holden, via Tulsa World. “He was with his wife Trisha when he passed.”
Thus car the official cause of death has not been released.
Morrison also is remembered for appearing in Rocky V but his boxing career was derailed when he tested positive for HIV in 1996. He was unable to ever getting a boxing license again and resorted to competing in Mexico.
There had been reports that Morrison was surviving off a feeding tube and ventilator in recent months.
