Anaheim Ducks winger Teemu Selanne will miss two weeks of the NHL season following a high stick to his mouth on Tuesday.
The news about Selanne’s absence was reported by the Ducks via twitter.
Selanne will require oral surgery in addition to the 40 stitches and lost teeth.
Selanne suffered damage to his upper mouth by an errant stick last night in Philly, including several missing teeth and 40 stitches.

Prior to the injury, Selanne had three goals and seven points in 11 games for the Ducks in his final NHL season.
