The Texas Longhorns did not have a single player selected during the 2014 NFL Draft. While a few members of the Longhorns have gone onto sign with teams, this marked the first time since 1937 that none had their names called in the Draft.
It had been 77 years of Longhorns being selected in the Draft. Even Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year Jackson Jeffcoat was left behind.
The lack of any Longhorns being selected in the Draft is just another reminder of how poorly the team played under Mack Brown over the past few seasons.
With Texas’ streak snapped, Notre Dame now has the longest streak. The Fighting Irish have had a player taken every year since 1938. USC and Michigan are not far behind with players being taken every year since 1939.
