Johnny Maziel injures shoulder, returns as A&M loses to Auburn

johnnymanzielWith Texas A&M locked into a close one against Auburn quarterback Johnny Manziel was forced from the game for one series during the fourth quarter.

Manziel injured his right shoulder on the first play of the fourth quarter when he was tackled on the Auburn 2-yard line following an 8-yard run. Trainers treated him on the field before he walked to the sideline.

Matt Joeckel replaced Manziel and threw an incomplete pass before the Aggies kicked a field goal a play later.

Joeckel would play in the following series for the Aggies before Manziel returned to the game.

With 5:05 left in the game Manziel ran into the endzone on a one-yard rush giving the Aggies a 41-38 lead but it was short lived as Auburn rebounded for a touchdown of their own when Tre Mason scored on a five yard run with 1:18 left.

It did not take long for Manziel and Texas A&M to march towards the endzone but Manziel would be sacked forcing a 3rd & 18 and then a ill thought of scamper forced a 4th & 13.

After taking the ball from the shotgun formation Manziel ran backwards and was sacked as Auburn forced a turnover on downs.
