The Braves run a beat The Freeze race prior to the start of the seventh inning of games at Sun Trust Field. On Friday, The Freeze suffered his first defeat of 2018.
On Opening Day, The Freeze was successful in winning his first race of the year. The loss on Friday was not the first loss for The Freeze during these special promotial races.

To make matters worse for the Braves was that catcher Kurt Suzuki was forced to leave the game after being hit on his throwing hand with a pitch while batting.
