Boston Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks has a calf strain and will undergo an MRI on Sunday morning.
Previously the Red So had said that Middlebrooks was scratched from Saturday’s game due to cramping but it now appears to be more serious. The results of the MRI will decide whether or not Middlebrooks goes to the 15-day disabled list or not. Jonathan Herrera started at third base on Saturday night.
