Pirates closer Jason Grilli placed on 15-day DL

Pittsburgh Pirates closer Jason Grilli left Monday’s game with a sore right forearm. He was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday afternoon with a right forearm strain.

He is reportedly headed back to Pittsburgh for tests.  Mark Melancon should fill the closer role for now.

Grilli, 36, recently recorded his 30th save of the season.
