NASCAR Chicago Street Race: Weekend Schedule, Race Start Times, Viewing Info

The first ever race on the streets of Chicago will take place this weekend with both NASCAR’s Xfinity and Cup Series in action.

Using Lake Shore Drive, Michigan Avenue, Columbus Drive and select surrounding thoroughfares, the Chicago Street Course is a 12-turn, 2.2-mile course. The start/finish and pit area will be located on South Columba Drive in front of the Buckingham Fountain.

With the addition of the Chicago Street Race, NASCAR now boasts 177 different tracks with competition across it’s 75 year history.

While NASCAR is at Chicago, the ARCA Menards Series West will be in action at the famed Irwindale Speedway. Information for that one day event can be found in the schedule as well.

Weather

Air quality has been an issue the past week in the mid-West due to the ongoing Canadian wildfires. Temps reach a high of 79 on Saturday with rain coming in overnight. The weather for Sunday reaches a high of 72 with early showers expected. With the Cup Series running at 5:30 pm ET on Sunday there should be plenty of time to make sure the streets are good to go ahead of the race.
