Hunter McElrea was the fastest in the second Indy NXT practice at Road America on Saturday. McElrea’s time of 1:48.8556 was faster than the track record set by Colton Herta in 2017. Expectations are that many in the field will top the old track record during qualifying.
Points leader Christian Rasmussen (seventh) currently holds a two point lead over Nolan Siegel (fifth). McElrea currently is third 40 points back. How close is the series? The gap between third and 11th is 25 points.
