Nikita Johnson began the Indy NXT race at St. Petersburg on the front row and would lead every lap to claim the opener of the 2026 season.
Four cautions turned the race into a 55 minute timed race, a consequence of IndyCar’s noon start time at the track.
Of the 24 starters in the field, 20 finished on the lead lap.
