The No. 51 Rick Ware Racing team was given an L1 penalty after failing pre-qualifying inspection four times at Sonoma Raceway.
Driver Cody Ware was not allowed to participate in Busch Pole Qualifying on Saturday which will result in the car being at the back of the field to start the race. Ware will also be required to serve a pass-though penalty at the beginning of the race. The engineer, Steve Gray, has also been ejected from the racetrack.
I like a challenge… In all seriousness a tough way to start the weekend, but Im confident we will learn what we can and practice and fight hard to bounce back early in the cup race. Always proud of my @NurtecODT @RickWareRacing gang https://t.co/cKFSBx5YIK
