The field is set for the 2014 running of the Indianapolis 500. On Saturday the 33 cars which will take the green flag on Sunday May 25, 2014 at the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Speedway were determined. Where they will start for the famed 500 mile race remains to be seen.
Ed Carpenter was the fastest qualifier. Carlos Muonz, Helio Castroneves, James Hinchcliffe, Will Power, Marco Andretti, Simon Pagenaud ,Joseph Newgarden, JR Hildebrand join him in the fast nine. Drivers in positions 10-33 will run from four lap runs which will be completed between 10:15 am ET and 1:30 pm ET to determine their starting spot in the 500.
At 2:00 pm ET Sunday the fastest nine drivers from Saturday will take the track. This is the fast nine portion and will run though 2:45 pm ET. This will determine the order of the top nine.
