Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook will have a hearing with the NHL about his hit on David Backes during the third period of Saturday’s Game 2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.
Seabrook hit a defenseless Backes in the head whle he did not have the puck. At the time Seabrook with given a five minute penalty for charging and a game misconduct.
John Shannon reports that the NHL will conduct a hearing with Seabrook via phone.
To be clear, when Seabrook's hearing occurs…time still not set…it will be a phone hearing.

Backes did not return to the game following the hit. Seabrook is facing a suspension that could wipe him out for the rest of the playoffs.
