The Bengals defense collapsed in the worst of ways in Saturday’s AFC Wild Card round loss to the Steelers.
After A.J. Green caught a 25 yard touchdown pass from A.J. McCarron to give the Bengals a 16-15 lead the Bengals were blessed with an interception caught by Vontaze Burfict. Of course a Jeremy Hill would fumble would give the Steelers another possession and the collapse was on.
Vontaze Burfict was called for a penalty on a nasty head shot to Steelers receiver Antonio Brown. After Brown was helped off the field a skirmish took place and Adam Jones was flagged resulting in a 35-yard attempt by Chris Boswell.
Vontaze Burfict might be in trouble for this hit on Antonio Brown. Very dangerous. #NFLplayoffs #PITvsCIN https://t.co/j8sp5nmvl5

Boswell’s kick was good giving the Steelers the 18-16 lead which stayed good for the win. The Bengals have not won a playoff game since January 6, 1991 – the longest drought of any team in the NFL. That’s futility that even the Browns can not match.
