The Washington Redskins will start Colt McCoy on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. This comes days after the Redskins and coach Jay Gruden said that they would start Robert Griffin III.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Redskins had a change of heart and will start McCoy who is 2-0 in games this season. Griffin is still viewed as the long-term solution for the Redskins who want to add talent around him going forward.

In McCoy’s two games this year he has completed 85.7 percent of his passes for 427 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He was a key part of an upset win against the Cowboys.

Griffin was 11-of-19 for a mere 106 yards on Sunday against the 49ers. He offered nothing on the ground rushing four times for 11 yards.

At 3-8 on the season the Redskins are done as far as the playoffs are concerned.
