The Falcons have released running back Steven Jackson.
Jackson, 31, has been targeted for release since the season came to an end. His years of being a top tier running back have long passed as his yards per carry dropped to 3.6 during his time with the Falcons.
The Falcons will now turn over their backfield duties to Devonta Freeman but his time may be short-lived as they will undoubtedly target a replacement in the draft.
