Drug charges against Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle have been dropped by Wichita police.
According to police spokesman Lt. James Espinoza the said the suspicion of marijuana possession charge against Randle was dropepd because of inconsistencies.
On Tuesday Randle was taken into custody after allegedly being involved in a hotel fight with the mother of his child.
When police arrived to the hotel room they found Randle and a 22-year-old woman in addition to marijuana.
Randle was arrested mid-way though the 2014 season after he was caught shoplifting from a mall in Frisco. Randle was caught trying to steal some Polo underwear and a tester bottle of Gucci Guilty Black cologne.
After that arrest the Cowboys fined Randle an undisclosed amount and he later apologized to the locker room.
The Cowboys could lose the NFL’s leading rusher in DeMarco Murray to free agency and Randle would have seemed to be a logical in house candidate to see an uptick in playing time as he has two years left on his rookie contract, however his off field issues are doing him no favors.
Randle, a fifth round pick in 2013, ran 51 times for 343 yards and three touchdowns during the 2014 season.
