The Carolina Panthers deactivated DE Greg Hardy for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions amid his domestic violence case that is awaiting jury trial.
Hardy, 25, allegedly attacked and attempted to strangle his girlfriend Nicole Holder over her relationship with rapper Nelly. Hardy was found guilty but is appealing the plea.
Am told the team will not have official comments on DE Greg Hardy, inactive, until after the game. #Panthers

“When he let go of me, . . He got on top of me and strangled me,” Holder said about the attack. “He looked into my eyes and told me he was going to kill me.”
Hardy’s defense argued that Holder’s injuries occurred after she threw herself into a bathtub.
This is in the wake of domestic violence incidents regarding both Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson.
