Giants offensive coordinator throws support behind Eli Manning

Needless to say the season did not start the way that the New York Giants and quarterback Eli Manning envisioned.

With questions surrounding the ability of Manning to adapt to Ben McAdoo’s West Coast offense, the offensive coordinator came to Manning’s defense.

“He is the perfect fit for this offense,” McAdoo said of Manning on Thursday. “He is very smart. I thought that if there was anything encouraging about what happened in the game, it was the comfort level with his feet and the progress that he is making fundamentally.”

The poor performance out of Manning and the offense reminded fans of the struggles from last season when the team began 0-6.

Manning was 18-of-33 for 163 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the Giants Week 1 loss to the Lions. The Giants will look for more this week as they take on the Cardinals.
