Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton may be entering the final year of his contract with the team but he is not expressing any concerns.
“I’m confident. And both sides are working on it,” Dalton said via NFL.com. “We haven’t given a deadline, we haven’t talked about a deadline. We don’t expect it to get to that point, but if it does, it does.”
Dalton has one year left on his rookie contract while the Bengals could choose to use the franchise tag on him next year.
One player behind Dalton is wide receiver A.J. Green.
“We came in together. That’s my guy. He helped me where I am. I helped him and we took the Bengals to a different level,” Green said two weeks ago. “The Bengals were losing a lot before we came. I feel like we turned it around.
Dalton completed 61.9-percent of his passes for a carer best 4,293 yards and 33 touchdowns in 2013.
