Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson is back in football.

Johnson has been trying to find a job for years in the NFL and recently had a workout with the Montreal Alouettes. The results impressed the team enough that they signed Johnson.

While it is doubtful that the now 36-year-old Johnson will return to the NFL via this route it will keep him in the press and does just enough to keep the dream alive.

“A dream of mine since I was 4 years old was taken from me, rightfully so, by my wrongdoings and I just want to get back to doing something that I love to do, regardless of where it is,” Johnson said, according to the New York Daily News. “Montreal, flag football, back in the street the way I grew up. I just want to play football.”

In his NFL career Johnson totaled 766 catches for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns in a career that spanned from 2001-2011.
