Browns to match offer for center Alex Mack?

The five-year offer sheet given by the Jacksonville Jaguars to transition-tagged center Alex Mack will be matched in “no time at all” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Mack’s current team, the Cleveland Browns, hold the right to match any offer for the 29-year-old center. While he may have preferred to leave Cleveland for Jacksonville it was never going to be easy as the Browns had the final say whether or not to match the offer.

Cleveland and Jacksonville both have cap space to play with. The Browns will need to start working out deals for Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron and Joe Haden eventually but for now they appear set to keep one of the NFL’s best centers. Mack has not missed a game in his five year NFL career.
