Unable to find a trade partner, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released cornerback Darrelle Revis.
Reportedly New England, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Atlanta and both New York teams had shown interest in the 28-year-old but all wanted Revis to accept a paycut.
Revis had no reason to take a paycut, as Tampa Bay had no leverage. Now he can choose his future home.
Revis was set to count $16 million against the cap for the Buccaneers. He was due a $1.5 million roster bonus on Thursday.
With Aqib Talib signing with the Denver Broncos and now off the market, teams will be scrambling to sign Revis. Anyone who placed a call with the Buccaneers can be expected to be interested in signing Revis.
