No surprise here! The Chicago Bears will put their playoff hopes on the right arm of quarterback Jay Cutler.

There was never any indication that the Bears would turn back to Josh McCown in Week 17 and head coach Marc Trestman has confirmed as much.

Cutler and the Bears could have won the NFC North and clinched a playoff spot with a win in Sunday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles but instead were routed 54-11.

Now the Bears will play the Green Bay Packers in Week 17 with the winner taking the division and the playoff spot.

Cutler did not have a good night against the Eagles completing 57.1 percent of his passes for 222 yards, a touchdown and an interception but this decision is as much about the future of the team as it is this season.

It publicly remains unclear what the Bears plan to do with Cutler but considering they pulled hot playing McCown and gave Cutler the ball when he returned from injury speaks good about his chances to return.
