Nearing the end of his rookie contract, the Washington Redskins have not had talks with linebacker Brian Orakpo about an extension. Orakpo told John Keim of Examiner that he would like to be a Redskin “for life.”
Orakpo has been one of the NFL’s best pass rushers when healthy but the Redskins are right to have concerns after he tore his left pectoral for the second consecutive season.
Last season Orakpo only appeared in the Redskins first two games but he claims to be fully healthy.
In four seasons Orakpo has recorded 29.5 sacks for the Redskins and forced six fumbles.
