The Patriots and Rob Gronkowski waited out April to see if an infection had cleared out of the tight ends fractured and infected left forearm.
Gronkowski has been a major part of the Patriots offensive game plan and should a fourth surgery be needed his status of Week 1 would be jeopardized.

According to ESPN Boston there have been “no unexpected setbacks” and Gronkowski has been participating in the teams offseason conditioning program.
Gronkowski has caught 187 passes and 38 touchdowns over the last three seasons.
