The Cleveland Browns are expected to start Brandon Weeden at quarterback for a second season.

There is a new coaching staff in Cleveland but with the Browns unable to acquire a free agent quarterback and the draft class looking bleak the Browns will be forced to start Weeden again even after declaring a open competition for the job.

No one in Cleveland has declared Weeden the teams quarterback and owner Jimmy Haslam hardly went that far in a recent report from the Akron Beacon Journal.

“I think they think the offense they’ll run fits our quarterback’s skill set and there’s potential there,” Haslam said. “They’re optimistic we can put points on the board.”

Weeden finished 2012 with a 72.6 rating while tossing 14 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
