Report: San Francisco 49ers will not pursue Darrelle Revis

The San Fransisco 49ers are not inclined to pursue CB Darrelle Revis at this time according to ESPN’s Chris Mortenson.

This contradicts much of the talk from Wednesday – and this offseason – that suggested San Francisco would be the eventual landing spot for Revis.

San Francisco worked out a trade of Alex Smith with Kansas City on Wednesday. That transaction and others have given the 49ers a whopping 15 draft picks in the upcoming draft. The consensus among many is that the 49ers will make finding a top corner  their number one priority.

Revis is considered the best corner in the league but his return from an ACL tear brings risks with it.

There is still plenty of time before April’s draft so it is hard to completely rule San Francisco out.
