San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints point spead, line and preview

The San Francisco 49ers will play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at the Superdome. The game is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. EST start time and can be seen in many markets as the late game on FOX.

New Orleans was given up for dead when the season started, now they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league. The 49ers will start Colin Kaepernick at quarterback as they apparently liked what he was able to do against the Chicago Bears while Alex Smith was out with a concussion.

So what is the line for the 49ers and Saints game? This one is a toss up but the 49ers opened as a 2.5 point favorite. The over/under for the game is set at 50.

While the Saints have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL (28.7 ppg) they have shown signs of improvement on defense as they have given up just 19 points per game in their last three contests.

The 49ers remain one of football’s best defenses allowing a mere 13.4 points per game. Last week they scored 32 points in a blowout of the Chicago Bears. In that game they were able to smother Bears quarterback Jason Campbell and keep the Bears running game out of the equation. If they have anywhere near that level of success against the Saints they will pull this one out.
