Talk had just started and already Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops is saying forget it.

Asked about being a candidate for the coaching job at Florida with Will Muschamp stepping down at the end of the season Stopps denied any desire to leave Oklahoma.

“All I want to be is a candidate at Oklahoma,” Stoops said in a Big 12 conference all. “I’m not a candidate anywhere else. I’m finished with that question.”

Stoops has downplayed reports of him leaving in the past. He has been the head coach of Oklahoma since 1999 and with the program being one of the best in the country during his tenure there is no pressure to leave.

Stoops is 167-42 in his career at Oklahoma.

Other candidates who have been speculated for the Gators head coach job include Auburn’s Guz Malzahn and Arizona’s Rich Rodriguez.
