Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron will skip the 2014 Senior Bowl.

McCarron finished his Crimson Tide career with 36 wins and two national championships during his time as a starter at Alabama. And that is also where his college career will end.

“I really appreciate being invited to play in the Senior Bowl,” McCarron said. “It is quite an honor and something I’ve dreamed about while growing up in the Mobile area. However, at this time, I’m putting all of my focus and energy into preparing for the NFL Combine, pro day and the rest of the pre-draft evaluation process. Therefore, I won’t be taking part in the Senior Bowl.”

The draft status of McCarron is all over the place with some ranking him as a late first-round option with others saying he is nothing more than a fourth rounder.

Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley has accepted an invitation to the game which will be held Jan. 25.
