You have probably heard of Jack Hoffman by now. The eight-year old was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer while just five years of age.
Earlier this year Hoffman ran for a 69-yard touchdown in the Nebraska Cornhusker’s spring game. That feat earned him an ESPY and a meting with Barack Obama.
This week Jack and his family got the best news of all.
Jack’s cancer is in remission.
According to the Omaha World-Tribune, an MRI revealed that after 60 weeks of chemotherapy, the tumor in Hoffman’s head has shrank. His father, Andy Hoffman, said he’s “cautiously optimistic” about Jack’s prognosis, and that doctors will remove the port under Jack’s skin that delivers his chemotherapy next week.
“He associates getting rid of that chemo port with getting his life back, his little boy life back,” Andy Hoffman told the paper.
