The Florida Gators have Jeff Driskel back. Driskel, a junior, had been out since July 30 with acute appendicitis.

Driskel helped the Gators to a 11-2 record and an appearance in the Sugar Bowl last season. On Thurdsay night he returned to practice reports the Palm Beach Post.

Tyler Murphy ran the Gators offense for the first week of camp but all signs point to Driskel being under center for the Gators when the college football season starts.

Last year Driskel threw for 1,646 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran for 716 yards and four touchdowns.

Florida will begin the season No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches poll. They play their first game against Toledo on Aug. 31.
