What happens in Vegas will soon be seen everywhere. The proposal of a 60,000-seat stadium for UNLV football includes a 100-yard video board. The entire project, known as “UNLV Now”, is valued at $800 million.

The 100-yard video board would be 40 yards longer then the one at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“When Vegas puts on a show, people expect something amazing,” project spokesman Craig Cavileer said. “People are going to expect an over-the-top facility. (UNLV Now) should be phenomenal and iconic.”

The stadium is scheduled for completion in 2017 and also features a retractable roof, two clubs and six 300-seat mega-suites. While the stadium would primarily be used for football, organizers hope to bring in other events like Cowboys Stadium has.

Planned funding includes substantial sums from the hotel and casino industry and a private partner, Majestic Realty.
