United Rentals, the global leader in equipment rentals, is leveling up its long-standing alliance with Richard Childress Racing (RCR). The company has officially signed on to sponsor Austin Hill for a select schedule of races in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series.
Hill will pilot the No. 33 United Rentals Chevrolet, beginning his part-time campaign at the Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, March 8. Fans can catch the action live on FOX Sports 1 starting at 3:30 p.m. ET.
A Decade of Synergy
The 2026 season marks a major milestone for the trio, representing the fifth year of partnership between United Rentals and RCR, and the ninth year the rental giant has backed Hill.
The partnership has already proven its “winning formula” early this year. Hill, a native of Winston, Georgia, kicked off the 2026 season by driving the United Rentals colors to victory lane in the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
“United Rentals continues to be a special part of my career,” said Hill. “I’ve represented their company for almost a decade now. Racing on Sundays full-time is the end goal, so expanding the track lineup will be a good challenge to gain experience.”
By the Numbers: Austin Hill’s Cup Series Trajectory
While Hill remains a powerhouse in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (NOAPS)—where he is a former Regular Season Champion—his footprint in the premier Cup Series continues to grow.
Hill noted that the No. 33 team has found significant speed recently, citing their first top-10 in Chicago last season and a near-miss for the win at Talladega as proof they can compete at the front of the field.
Industry Titans Collide
United Rentals brings a massive footprint to the partnership, boasting over 1,600 rental locations across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. For RCR, the relationship is about more than just a logo on a hood; it’s about a comprehensive “at-track activation” strategy.
“United Rentals has been instrumental in Austin Hill’s continued rise and success,” said Mike Verlander, president of RCR. “Together we’re looking forward to watching him in the NASCAR Cup Series for select races in 2026.”
Craig Schmidt, United Rentals’ Senior VP of Sales, echoed that sentiment, emphasizing that the partnership is focused on “showcasing the skill and teamwork that drives NASCAR success.”
As Hill continues his fifth full-time season in the No. 21 NOAPS Chevrolet, these select Sunday starts in the No. 33 will serve as a critical bridge toward his ultimate goal: a full-time seat in the Cup Series.
