NASCAR at Darlington: Weekend schedule, race start time and tv info

This weekend both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the Xfinity Series are in action at Darlington Raceway. Known as the “Lady in Black” or the track who is “Too Tough to Tame” the 1.366 mile track has been a fixture on the NASCAR schedule since 1950.

On track action starts on Friday with both series doing practice. Qualifying will take place on Saturday and the Xfinity Series will run the VFW Sports Clips Help a Hero 200 on Saturday. On Sunday the Sprint Cup Series will run the Bojangles Southern 500.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 5:

11:45 a.m.: NASCAR XFINITY Series Coors Light Pole Qualifying, NBCSN/Live Extra
1:45 p.m.: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coors Light Pole Qualifying, NBCSN/Live Extra
3:30 p.m.: NASCAR XFINITY Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 (147 laps, 200.8 miles), NBC/Live Extra Green Flag: 3:46 pm ET.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 6:

7 p.m.: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 (367 laps, 501.3 miles), NBC/Live Extra Green Flag: 7:46 pm ET.

Weather

Rain could be an issue this weekend. While temperatures will be in the mid-80’s there is a 50-percent chance of rain for each of the on-track days with PM Thunderstorms expected on Sunday. Things are no better for the rest of the week.
