The Atlanta Braves will be without Evan Gattis for some time as he heads to the disabled list due to a bulging thoracic disc in his back.
Gattis will be given an epidural on Tuesday to hopefully speed up the healing process. The Braves are unsure how long the 27-year-old will be out of the lineup but given that he had 16 home runs with a .290/.342/.558 line though 63 games played his absence will clearly impact the teams offense.
The absence of Gattis means that Christian Bethancourt will remain on the Braves roster.
