Felix Hernadez’s bid to win the final rotation spot for the Braves gets underway on Saturday.
Hernandez will start the Braves’ Grapefruit League opener.
Signed to a minor-league deal this offseason, Hernandez is looking to show he still has something left after a 2019 season that saw him post a 6.40 ERA and a 6.00 FIP in 71 2/3 innings across 15 starts.
The Braves will have to choose between Hernandez, Sean Newcomb,m Kyle Wright and Bryse Wilson for the final spot. With Cole Hamels ruled out for the start of the season the team will likely need two of that contingent to break camp with the big league club.
Fox Sports Southeast will have coverage of the Braves spring opener at 1:05 pm ET when they take on the Orioles.
