It is too early to speculate on his status for Opening Day though the time table suggests he may miss a few starts in the early part of the season.
Hamels signed a one-year contact with the Braves worth $18 million in early December.
Last season Hamels made 27 starts pitching 141.1 innings going 7-7 with a 3.81 ERA for the Chicago Cubs.
