Yordan Alvarez unanimous AL Rookie of the Year

Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez ran away with the 2019 AL Rookie of the Year award clamoring all 30 first place votes.

Alvarez was widely expected to win the award after hitting .313/.412/.655 with 27 home runs and 78 RBI during his first 87 career games. That those numbers came following a June call up shows just the type of impact Alvarez had in the lineup for the Astros.

Following second in the voting was John Means followed by Brandon Lowe.
