The Phillies are finding themselves fading in the NL East race and manager Gabe Kapler has been changing up his lineup in an attempt to change the team’s fate.
It was not too long ago that the Phillies were in first place in the NL East, now the team is 5 games behind the Braves.
One of Kapler’s new favorite things to do is play Carlos Santana at third base. This allows for the Phillies to get additional at-bats for Justin Bour. The move also pushes Asdrubal Cabrera to shortstop.
In the first game of a doubleheader, Santana will be playing his fourth game at third base out of the Phillies last five games. This comes after four years of not appearing at the position.
