The White Sox will be without first baseman Jose Abreu for the next couple of weeks after the All-Star first baseman underwent surgery on his lower abdominal/groin area.
Abreu was replaced in the White Sox lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Twins by Matt Davidson. Daniel Palka played DH.

The surgery was a bit of bad timing for Abreu who had heated up recently. Over his last 26 games Abreu was hitting.350/.400/.699 with nine homers.
