White Sox fans got bad news on the status of prospect Jake Burger. The man viewed as the future third baseman of the club will now miss the entire 2018 season with a ruptured left Achilles.
Burger injured himself on Monday while running out a ground in a spring training game against the Athletics. On Tuesday the team formerly announced that he would undergo surgery later this week in Chicago.

Burger took to Twitter to thank fans and declare he was looking forward to an eventual return to the field.
The 21-year-old Burger was the White Sox first round draft pick last June from Missouri State University.
