White Sox among suitors for Alex Gordon

Alex Gordon has been a key part of the Kansas City Royals outfield as the team has gone from doormat to World Series championships. While Gordon and the team would welcome a continuation of their relationship they have struggled to find common ground on a new contract.

Gordon is believed to be angling for a five-year deal worth an estimated $20 million a season.

One team who does have interest in Gordon is the Chicago White Sox reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The 31-year-old would offer the team a Gold Glover in left field and a capable bat. Rosenthal believes the team would try and trade Adam LaRoche or Melky Cabrera if they are able to land Gordon.

Of course the team should be trying to trade LaRoche regardless as he has offered little to nothing since arriving. Any trade of LaRoche would be a salary dump with the White Sox being left to pay the majority of his deal or an equally bad contract coming back in return.

In 104 games last season Gordon hit .271/.377/.432 with 13 home runs and 48 RBI.
