The Kansas City Royals will have right hander Johnny Cueto make his debut with the team on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Cueto was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds for three left handed pitchers in Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb and Cody Reed.
The Royals will remove either Jeremy Guthrie or Chris Young from the rotation to make room for Cueto. Young and Guthrie will pitch Tuesday and Wednesday against the Cleveland Indians.
Cueto will wear No. 47 after working out a deal with Franklin Morales who will switch to No. 45.
