The Kansas City Royals have placed right handed pitcher Yordano Ventura on the 15-day disabled list.
Ventura’s disabled list stint is retroactive to June 13 as he is dealing with ulnar neuritis. He had been scheduled to start Friday. He had thrown a bullpen session as recently as Monday without incident after he left his start last week with an irritated nerve in his pitching hand.
Yordano Ventura is going on the disabled list due to his ulnar nerve condition. Yohan Pino will start for him tomorrow.

With Ventura out of action the Royals will start Yohan Pino in his place against the Red Sox. Though 12 starts the 24-year-old was 3-6 with a 4.68 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. He had pitched a total of six innings over his last two outings.
