San Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers will miss the next eight weeks as he undergoes surgery to remove a bone spur in his left wrist.
Myers, 24, was placed on the disabled list on Monday due to the wrist and surgery is the news that fans had regretted to hear.
Eight weeks means that Myers will be out of action until sometime in August. The Padres will be forced to go with Will Venable and Melvin Upton Jr. in an expanded role with Myers gone.
Pat Murphy told media that Wil Myers will have surgery tomorrow to remove a bone spur in his left wrist. Expected to be out 8 weeks.
