Cobb was diagnosed with the tear on Tuesday and while the right hander is going to give it a shot, these injuries almost always end up requiring Tommy John surgery.
Have confirmed #Rays Cobb does have partial tear in elbow ligament as reported earlier, will try to pitch through it.

The 27-year-old Cobb had a 2.87 ERA, 1.136 WHIP, and 149/47 K/BB ratio over 166 1/3 innings last season. Cobb just began throwing in late April and may now miss the start of the 2016 season as well.
