The Tampa Bay Rays are looking to trade or release catcher Jose Molina this offseason reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

While the Rays would obviously prefer to find a trade partner for Molina it will be hard to impossible given his $2.75 million salary.

Despite being 39, Molina could still be a useful backup for some teams but coming off a .178/.230/.187 line from last season he will have to take what he can get if released.

The Rays are also said to be wanting to trade Sean Rodriguez.

Playing as a utility player between the infield and outfield, Rodriguez did hit 12 home runs last season but produced just a .211/.258/.443 overall line. If the Rays want to move him they will find more than a few teams interested.
